Chaplain Services
Total Longterm Care regularly provides support and encouragement for
all our participants and their caregivers, including non-
denominational spiritual guidance through our chaplains.
Our chaplains visit each Day/Health Center one day per week on a
rotating basis so that any participant may take advantage of this
service regardless of the day of the week that the participant visits
the Day/Health Center.
Chaplain programs at the Day/Health Centers include bible study,
spiritually-based sensory stimulation study, and services for those
who wish to participate. Chaplains also prepare and conduct memorial
services, remembering participants who passed away. Each of those
rembrance services is designed to reflect the unique life experiences
and the faith of those who are being honored and remembered.
Home Visits
Visits with participants can be crucial to their spiritual needs.
Therefore at the request of the participant or family, our chaplains
will visit with participants in their homes, assisted living
facilities, nursing homes or wherever they are. Especially for those
who are facing end-of-life issues, chaplain visits can provide
comfort, encouragement, and the ability to face fears, anger or
regrets. The chaplains listen in order to discover the needs of each
person and address those needs.
Visits need to be scheduled in advance, however, special attention is
given to critical needs communicated to the chaplains by our medical
staff, social workers and others.
